Catherine Kipp, APRN
Catherine Kipp is a board certified family practice nurse practitioner and a lifelong student of medicine. Catherine graduated from Brigham Young University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After graduation, Catherine worked as a labor and delivery nurse. In 1997, Catherine graduated from the University of Nevada Orvis School of Nursing, specializing in family practice medicine.
Following graduation, Catherine worked in the Reno, Nevada area training with a fertility specialist. During this time Catherine developed a great understanding and appreciation for hormones and how they affect all aspects of the body’s functions.
In 2009, Catherine set out to open her own private practice which focused on helping her clients reach their health goals through the use of natural hormone replacement. Catherine continues to advance her understanding in functional medicine and in 2014 she graduated with a fellowship in metabolic, anti-aging, and functional medicine from the Board of the American Academy of Anti Aging.
During her down time, Catherine enjoys reading, going to the movies with her husband, hiking with her dog and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.
Dr. Carmel Ferreira, NMD, LAc
Dr. Carmel Ferreira is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Acupuncturist. Dr. Ferreira received her Bachelor’s of Science in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her desire to practice Complementary and Alternative Medicine lead her to acquire a strong foundation in eastern medicine, and she pursued an education in Traditional Chinese Medicine by attending two professional programs simultaneously. Dr. Ferreira obtained her Doctorate at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters of Science in Acupuncture at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Dr. Ferreira also obtained the STAIR Integrative Residency through Bastyr University, which was sponsored by Integrative Therapeutics.
Dr. Ferreira has always felt the need to be involved with her community and for this reason has volunteered at various clinics and hospitals including the Cancer Wellness House in Salt Lake City. Dr. Ferreira assists cancer patients by providing acupuncture and counseling of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
During her down time Dr. Ferreira enjoys being outdoors hiking, trail running, snowboarding and practicing the art of fire poi. Her greatest passion is in the kitchen, creating nutritious meals that are packed with flavor. She also enjoys practicing spiritual meditation and is an active member of her church where she volunteers in various affiliated activities.
